Sentence Diagrams Will Not Die

Somebody has been diagramming the answers President Obama gives to difficult press conference questions in order to illustrate his facility with grammar. Check it out.

Here's the sentence that was diagrammed, if you want to try to diagram it yourself first:

My view is also that nobody's above the law, and, if there are clear instances of wrongdoing, that people should be prosecuted just like any ordinary citizen, but that, generally speaking, I'm more interested in looking forward than I am in looking backwards.

Apostrophes Beware!

Jeff Harrison (that's Jeff on the left) recently sent me this link to a troubling article on the endangered apostrophe.
I admit to being shocked that some of our British friends are having so much trouble with the little bugger that they are doing away with it on street signs.
